Operation and maintenance of a distributed PV power generation system mainly involves simple operations such as daily inspection of the mechanical installation and electrical connections, cleaning of the PV modules, and replacement of some failed components, so the cost is relatively low. For plants below 10 kW, the maintenance cost is almost negligible; however, MW-level plants should reserve 1%-3% of the maintenance cost into the total system investment. The cleaning cost of modules per square meter ranges from RMB 0.5 to 0.8 each time, mainly depending on local labor costs and the availability of O&M service providers.
